Perception and Expectation of EFL Students on Ideal Online Learning: A Survey Study in an Indonesian Islamic Higher Education

The present study is aimed to investigate EFL students’ perception on the use of Google Classroom as an online learning platform and their expectation ideal learning. 112 students at State Islamic University Mataram responded survey which was designed with open-ended questions. Students’ responses were qualitatively analyzed find main themes sub-themes. finding reveals that most students, 67%, perceived classroom negatively due potential problems such technical financial lead misunderstanding materials delivered by teachers. On other hand, 27% have a positive in terms ease its flexibility accessibility. least from neutral especially those who play safe perceiving both negative side. Furthermore, proposed employ effective teaching method curriculum, provide complete facilities well combine offline mode (blended learning).
